ABOUT THE ARTIST

Maegan McDowell

Maegan McDowell was born in Auckland in the late eighties. Her biggest influences growing up were her mother’s passion for medieval décor and her father’s fascination with the natural world.

She began her photography career in 2005 and had the opportunity to travel to South Africa to photograph wildlife and nature. After more than 10 years dedicated to beauty, fashion and travel campaigns Maegan decided to return to her childhood passion and set a new path towards focusing on nature, so in 2017 Maegan started studies in floristry, bringing home leftover flowers to create bodies of art that drew inspiration from the Renaissance period.
