Alex Scott is an artist and cartoonist based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. A keen observer and documenter, she draws inspiration from the thousands of photos in her phone’s camera roll. 

Focusing on moments that are amusing or strange or beautiful in their familiarity and ordinariness, she illustrates the world around her with fluid lines and vivid colour. Each new image adds to an ever-evolving visual narrative of daily life – in Auckland and beyond. “I think a lot about time, memory, nostalgia and how we make sense of the world,” she says. “My work is part of this thought process.”
