At endemicworld we operate both our retail art business and artist services business out of our gallery and studio space on Ponsonby Road. For 16 years we have specialised in making art accessible to New Zealanders.

We’re seeking a friendly and proactive Gallery Assistant to join our team. If you have a passion for art, enjoy connecting with people, and thrive in a dynamic environment, this role is perfect for you.

As the first point of contact for visitors, you’ll play a key role in creating a welcoming and supportive gallery experience. Alongside your gallery duties, you’ll also be introduced to our second business, Artist Services—a printing, framing, scanning, and dispatch service that supports artists in selling their works.

This role includes gradually learning to assist with artwork preparation for our customers. Using Adobe Creative Suite, you’ll help ensure clients' files are polished and print-ready. Join us in bringing creativity to life and supporting artists in their journey!.

Part Time Gallery Assistant

Starts Janurary 2025
Part Time 14- 21 hours per week // Friday - Saturday // 9:30am-4pm

Responsibilities:

• Welcome and assist visitors, providing information about print sizes, framing options and art working.
• Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the gallery space.
• Process sales and handle customer inquiries, both in-person and 
via phone or email.

• Assist with setting up or dismantling gallery displays as needed.
• Support administrative tasks, including inventory records and online orders.

A few things we will be looking for: 

• A passion for art and knowledge of contemporary art trends is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Previous experience in retail, hospitality, or customer service is desirable.
• Basic to intermediate computer skills and experience with point-of-sale systems are beneficial.
• Flexible and adaptable to the needs of a busy gallery environment.
