About this print
New Zealand Post House, a tower-and-podium construction favoured in the 1960s, was originally the main mail-sorting centre. It was designed by a Ministry of Works team led by Fergus Sheppard and built between 1969 and 1971.The building was damaged in the 2016 Kaikōura earthquake and an extensive refit was required.
