About the Artist
Danielle Thomson is an artist living in the Sunshine Coast, Australia. Her practice is influenced by meditative processes, cycles and patterns often found within nature. Danielle’s current work has been inspired by the need to slow down in this often-chaotic world we all live in. Using Indian ink and acrylics she creates drawings, where the repetition of her breath guides the mark making. Her work attempts to encourage the viewer to slow down and be present. Danielle had a fifteen-year career working and travelling as a chef. She has always considered this to be a creative process. However, the desire for more permanence in her outcomes has led her to pursue a career in the arts. She completed Bachelor of Fine Arts, in her home country, New Zealand in 2021 at Whitecliffe College.
