ABOUT THE ARTIST

Margaret Petchell

Margaret has been painting for over 20 years, as well as working as a makeup artist/stylist in the film and television industry.

The art of the old masters and Pre-Raphaelites has always captivated her, and she began painting grand scale portraits of women in her home studio.

In 2005, Margaret had her first successful collaborative exhibition "Skins" with her portrait works. Her subsequent exhibition "The Commoners" was a sell-out. Margaret paints birds in the same way that she paints people: portraits from head and shoulders up, the eye always connecting with the viewer combining detailed realism with her own stylistic edge.

She continues to paint and exhibit. A selection of her most popular paintings is available as limited edition fine art prints.
