About this print
This is the first artwork that Simon Stockley has released that is a pure digital rendering, an image from a virtual world that can only be physically manifested by being printed from a digital printer. With the dawning of the "Metaverse", this is now more relevant. A juxtaposition of banal suburbia with the fantastic. The retro rocket ship is in period with the art deco building in the foreground. This rocketship belonged to Emperor Ming from the Flash Gordon serials of the 1930s, which were shown on TV in the 1960s. Simon does not use AI in his artwork, instead he uses 3D rendering and digital painting applications which he has specialised in for nearly 30 years.

About the Artist
Simon Stockley has been producing art for well over 50 years He attended Elam School of Fine Arts in 1979 where he was lectured by Robert Ellis, Dick Frizzell and Don Binney. Throughout the 80’s Simon became a muralist and a freelance illustrator creating a lot of editorial illustrations for publications like Pacific Way, NZ Business and Metro. His most prominent mural is the Southern Right Whales mural on Dominion Road, Auckland which has become somewhat iconic lasting nearly 40 years. From the early 90’s Simon began using Photoshop to create his illustrations and from the mid 90s moved on to 3D applications. For the last 25 years Simon has focused on computer generated images, using them for dance party posters and source material for paintings. More recently has produced finished works in digital medium for printmaking.

Framed artworks and Art-Ready frames cannot be shipped outside New Zealand.
For a refund or exchange please get in touch with us within 30 days of placing your order. Let us know if you'd like to exchange your item for a different product, or if you’d prefer store credit or a refund (excluding any shipping charges). Please make sure the artwork is in the same condition as when you received it and is packed in the original packaging. We strongly recommend using a tracked service, as we can’t replace lost or damaged returns.
We cannot offer exchanges or returns on original artworks or handmade art pieces, as each artwork is one-of-a-kind and it affects the commission we pay our artists.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Simon Stockley
Most of our art prints are available framed or unframed. Choose your preferred size and frame option before adding the artwork to your cart. Some originals, limited editions or special works may have set framing options — if you’re unsure, get in touch and we’ll help.
Most unframed prints are made and sent within 2–4 business days. Framed prints usually take 5–7 business days, and large framed works can take 10–12 business days. Some custom framing or special orders may take a little longer, but we’ll keep you updated.
Yes. Choose Pickup at checkout, and we’ll let you know when your order is ready to collect from our Ponsonby gallery. If you need it by a certain date or time, leave us a note with your order, and we’ll do our best to help.
No worries. Art prints can be returned or exchanged within 30 days of receiving your order. Please get in touch first, then send it back in its original packaging so it travels safely. Original artworks are one-of-a-kind, so they can’t be returned unless there’s an issue with the order.
