Calla Wu-Zheng

Calla Wu-Zheng Artist
Calla loves to bring ethereal and calm feelings into homes with her beautiful paintings. Experience the joy and beauty of seeing Calla's artworks. As an emerging artist, Calla paints impressions of nature, the soft signals created by flickering light, subtle shifts of colour, and the feelings of being immersed in the outdoor environment. Her original oil paintings are inspired by gardens around Auckland such as Auckland Domain Wintergarden, Auckland Botanic garden, her parents' farm in Bombay and other locations around New Zealand.
In her spare time, Calla enjoys creating different forms of art including sketching, digital drawings on her iPad and makes cards for her friends. When she is not creating art, Calla is helping the younger generation express themselves through creating art music as a secondary school teacher.
Calla is a Kiwi-Asian, born in New Zealand and raised by parents of Chinese descent. Since graduating from AUT University with a Bachelor of Visual arts, she has exhibited at several galleries, including endemicworld, Jhana Millers Gallery and Franklin Arts Festival. She also exhibited as an emerging artist finalist in the New Zealand Art Show, her artwork is represented in the James Wallace Arts Trust Collection, and featured in the Uno Magazine.
