This painting represents the nature of sandstone, formed from tiny grains of sand to form a strong yet ever evolving structure. Lucy incorporated local sand into this painting to give it beautiful organic texture.

About the Artist
Lucy is an artist living in a small bay north of Auckland with her 3 small children. She was inspired to paint by her mother, so many of her works have a nostalgic undertone. Lucy works with Acrylic (usually house paint) & mixed media to create intuitive abstract pieces with soft pastel tones. Her works play with the idea of physical & emotional landscapes as one. She is interested in the way colour balances each other on a painting & the healing properties of colour in a room. Natural earth elements, forms & metaphysics play a huge part in her work.
