Lydia Rose is a mixed media artist living amongst the trees in West Auckland with her two children. Her infatuation with the three creative processes of photography, painting and digital media have combined to create vibrant, colourful pieces that are inspired by nature. As a self-taught photographer and painter, Lydia attended Whitecliffe College in 2019 to study design and digital media, and through the exploration of different processes developed a unique mixed media style. She is inspired by the works of artist Gerhard Richter and the beauty of moving shadows in her home.
Lydia's first collection of works ‘Botanical Woman’ feature photographs of flora & fauna that she then abstracts using paints and are an outward expression of her inner self exploration.
